(Closed Monday and Tuesday)
We are not "The Dan General Tubing Company" (We are not in Danbury or near Hanging Rock. We do not have a swimming hole or rope to swing from)
We are located off US220 just a few miles away from the Walmart in Mayodan.
Our new river adventure route offers a longer float time and is more scenic. We drop you off at the 704 public bridge access and you float back to the Dan River Campground and River Adventure private river access. This tube adventure is between 2-4 hours, depending on river conditions.
We do not offer an all day tubing adventure or extended float times
due to the nature of the river and lack of public access points.
Please remember to arrive early so we can depart on time.
Ask questions, and be sure you know all the risks associated with this activity before you decide to participate.
You will be outdoors in a natural environment. There are risks and dangers associated with all outdoor activities, especially activities on the water. You need to be aware of your surroundings at all times. You will be on your own while you float down the river.
River tubing is not for everyone; it is not a man-made amusement park ride. This is a rental operation where you rent a tube, a PFD (personal floatation device), and a bus ride. You are on your own; we do not control the river and there are not attendants along the way.
The river contains natural rock formations, fallen trees, and other obstacles. At some point, you may have to get out of your tube. Don't expect to float all the way down the river without getting wet or flipping out of your tube.
If there is an incident along the river, it is your responsibility to access the situation and take the proper action. Don't assume you can use your mobile phone for emergencies. There are many areas along the river where there is no mobile phone reception.
We do not give refunds. It is your responsibility to return the equipment in good working condition or you will be charged for equipment that is lost, damaged, and / or not returned. It is also your responsibility to bring all equipment up to the top of the river access point. Do not leave equipment at the bottom of the river access point.
Weather is unpredictable and it can change at any time. You must decide if you want to go given the weather forecast for the day.
We do not recommend tubing if you are pregnant or have back, neck, or other problems that could limit your ability to react in an emergency.
Leave the following items at home or in your vehicle: expensive sunglasses, watches, rings, jewelry, mobile phones, keys, wallet, etc. If you bring it on the river, more than likely it is going to get wet.
All Dan River Campground and River Adventure participants must be able to swim. A personal flotation device (PFD) is available upon request for guests who rent tubes.
You will be tubing in a natural environment. There are inherent risks related to all outdoor activities. Being intoxicated greatly increases the chances of drowning or having other incidents on the river, such as not being able to reach the river access point when you need to get out of the river at the end of the tubing adventure.
We reserve the right to refuse service to any guest who appears to be intoxicated, unruly or a danger to oneself or others. Be responsible.
We also reserve the right to refuse to take your alcohol on our shuttle bus(es). You are on private property and we can deny you the right to have alcohol on our premises.
